How to Print a Continuous Hardware Test Page on a Lexmark Forms Printer 23XX, 24XX, and 25XX
Overview
This test consists of a printhead bank test and a sample “font/pitch” test. It indicates a hardware failure if numbered lines or parts of lines are missing from the printhead bank, or if dots are missing from characters in the font/pitch test.
Test procedure
Load paper into the printer.
Make sure the
Ready
light is on.
Power off the printer.
Press and hold the
LineFeed
key.
Power on the printer while still holding the key down.
Release the key when printing starts.
To interrupt the test, press the green
Start/Stop
key.
When finished, power off the printer to end the continuous print test.
Important notes
The continuous test only prints an
8.00
inches print line.
The contents of the printout may vary slightly depending on the model series of the printer. To view a sample printout, click here.
The test can be performed either when the printer is in stand-alone mode or when it is connected to the computer.
