How to Turn On the 'Enable Fax Scans' and 'Driver to Fax' Settings on Laser MFPs

Overview
This article describes the procedure for activating the
Enable Fax Scans
and
Driver to Fax
functions.
NOTE:
Both of these settings are turned
ON
by default.
What you may see
You cannot send a fax from the computer or the MFP's scanner; however, you are able to receive faxes on the MFP.
How to Activate Enable Fax Scans and Driver to Fax
Method 1: Control panel.
This method is preferred if the device is not on the network.
  1. Click on the
    MENU
    button.
  2. Click the down-arrow and click on
    SETTINGS
    when visible.
  3. Click on the
    FAX SETTINGS
    .
  4. Select
    ANALOG FAX SETUP
    .
  5. Click on
    FAX SEND SETTINGS
    .
  6. Click on the down-arrow until
    ENABLE FAX SCANS
    is visible.
  7. If this says
    OFF
    , press the right or left arrow to change this value to display
    ON
    .
  8. Repeat this same procedure for the
    D
    RIVER TO FAX
    .
  9. Click on
    SUBMIT
    .
Method 2: Embedded Web Server(EWS) or MFP Web Page
This method is preferred if the device is on the network and you are not near the machine.
  1. Obtain the printer's TCP/IP address.
  2. Open your web browser.
  3. In the URL field, type
    http://MFP
    _
    IP_ADDRESS
    , where
    IP_ADDRESS
    is the TCP/IP address of the printer.
  4. Click on
    SETTINGS
    .
  5. Click on
    FAX SETTINGS
    .
  6. Click on
    ANALOG FAX SETUP
    .
  7. Scroll down to
    FAX SEND SETTINGS
    .
  8. Place a check mark next to
    ENABLE FAX SCANS
    .
  9. Place a check mark next to
    D
    RIVER TO FAX
    .
  10. Click on
    SUBMIT
    .
