Identify DLEs or Special Firmware
Certain functions or applications may require special firmware. Inform the technical support agent of any extensive variation in code levels.
IMPORTANT! Look for the presence of any downloadable language emulators (DLEs). All printer/MFPs with any one of these following downloadable language emulators (DLE) will require a different code specific to the emulation type. Downloadable language emulators can be also found under Device Information.
NOTE: Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for the compatible firmware for a corresponding DLE. DLE cards are base-code dependent. Incorrect download and flashing to the printer could lead to an irrecoverable error.

Machine Type/Model | Lexmark Models: Lexmark W850 Lexmark X860e Lexmark X862e Lexmark X864e | Solution An older printer/MFP base code that causes an error on the toner level calibration is the source of this issue. The error caused the new 35K toners toshow an 80%toner level instead of 100% full on a Lexmark W850 and X86x printer/MFP. There is no problem with the new toner cartridge and it is actually full of toner. Only thetoner level calculation is wrong. Updating the firmware levelsP515 (X86xe) or P516 (W850) and higher should resolve the issue. |
