From the
Dock
, click the System Preferences icon.

Alternatively, you may click on the Apple icon, and then System Preferences.
Click Network.
Click on the Network adapter used; e.g., Airport, Ethernet, etc. Note the values of the settings mentioned above.
Alternatively, you may click
Advanced
. Under the TCP IP tab, you will see the
IP Address
,
Subnet Mask
,
Router, or
Gateway
values.

From the
Dock
, click the
Terminal
icon.
Go to
Macintosh HD
and then open
Utilities
.
Type
ifconfig
at the prompt.

Microsoft Windows

Click Start or the Windows logo.
Click
Run
.
Alternatively, press the
Win key
+
R
on the keyboard to open the command prompt screen.
In the Run dialog, type cmd or command, and then click OK.
At the prompt, type ipconfig or ipconfig /all, and then press
ENTER
on the keyboard.
Take note the values of the settings mentioned above.

Click Start, right click My Network Places, and then click on Properties.
Right-click on
Local Area Connection
or
Wireless Network Connection

Click
Status
.
Click the
Support
tab, and take note the values of the settings mentioned above.
