Troubleshooting SMTP server not set up ‑ 72.01 error message
Does an "SMTP server not set up" error message appear on your printer? Check out the following steps to troubleshoot the problem.
Issue description
An "SMTP server not set up. [72.01]" message is showing on the display and a red status light flashes on the printer.
Solution
The issue happens when there is no SMTP server listed on the printer. To clear the error, you can either:
- Enter aPrimary SMTP Gatewayin the E-mail Setup menu.
- Disable the intervention message if you will not be using the E-mail feature on the printer yet.

- Type the printer's IP address on a web browser.
- Navigate toSettings>E-mail>E-mail Setup.
- Check the box besideDisable “SMTP server not set up” erroroption.
- Click Save to submit the changes.
