Missing or unresponsive toner cartridge

Follow these steps when the printer display shows a toner cartridge missing or unresponsive message.

  1. Perform the following tests:
    1. Open the front door.
    2. Remove, and then insert the toner cartridge.
    Is the toner cartridge missing or unresponsive?
    • Yes
      :
      Go to the next step.
    • No
      :
      The problem is solved.
  2. Check if the printer is using a genuine and supported Lexmark toner cartridge.
    If the toner cartridge is not supported, then install a supported one.
