Replacing the imaging unit

Replacing the imaging unit

Avoid printing delays. Install a new imaging unit when the printer prompts you to replace it.
  1. Open door A.
  2. Open the front door.
  3. Remove the used imaging unit.
  4. Unpack the new imaging unit, and then remove all the packing material.
Do not expose the imaging unit to direct light for more than 10 minutes. Extended exposure to light may cause print quality problems.
Do not touch the photoconductor drum. Doing so may affect the quality of future print jobs.
  5. Insert the new imaging unit, and then lock it in place.
  6. Remove the printhead wiper, and then clean the printhead lens.
  7. Put the printhead wiper back into place, and then close the front door.
  8. Close door A.
