Updating the firmware using the Embedded Web Server
Follow these steps on how to update the firmware in your printer remotely.
- Before you begin, make sure that you have downloaded the firmware and saved it on your computer or flash drive. For more information, see Downloading the printer firmware.
- Make sure that the printer is connected to the network.
Using the update button
- Open a web browser, and then type the printer IP address in the address field.
- The IP address appears as four sets of numbers separated by periods. For example, 123.123.123.123.
- If you are using a proxy server, then temporarily disable it to load the web page correctly.
- ClickDevice.
- Scroll down, and then clickFirmware Update.
- Depending on your printer model, clickCheck for updatesorCheck for updates now.If an update is available, then clickInstall now.The printer restarts automatically after the update.
Using the firmware flash file (.fls)
- Open a web browser, and then type the printer IP address in the address field.
- The IP address appears as four sets of numbers separated by periods. For example, 123.123.123.123.
- If you are using a proxy server, then temporarily disable it to load the web page correctly.
- ClickDevice.
- Scroll down, and then clickFirmware Update.
- In theUpdate Firmware from Filesection, clickBrowse.
- Search, and then select the.flsfile.
- ClickUpload.The printer restarts automatically after the update.
