Scanning to a computer
Follow these instructions to send scanned documents to your computer.
For Windows users
Using Lexmark Scanback Utility
- Go to https://support.lexmark.com, and then clickDrivers & downloads.
- In theSearch by Device Modelfield, type the printer model, and then clickFind Drivers & Downloads.
- ClickAdditional downloads compatible with [printer model], and then download and install Lexmark Scanback Utility.
- Load an original document into the ADF tray or on the scanner glass. For more information, see Using the automatic document feeder and scanner glass.
- From the computer, runLexmark Scanback Utility, and then clickCreate profile.If you prefer to use an existing scanning profile, then clickExisting profile.
- ClickSetup, and then from the menu that appears, clickAddto add the IP address.
- You can find the IP address at the top of the printer display.
- Make sure that the printer and computer are connected to the same network.
- From theSelect document format to be scannedsection, select the original document size.
- From theSelect file format for scan outputsection, select an output file resolution and format, and then clickNext.
- Type a scan profile name.
- ClickBrowse, select the destination folder where you want to save the scanned document, and then type a file name.To reuse the scan profile, from theName your shortcutfield, type a shortcut name, and then clickSave Profile.
- ClickFinish.
- From the control panel, navigate toScan Profiles, and then select the scan profile that you created in step 6.Make sure that theScan Profilesapp is enabled. From the control panel, navigate to . From thePage 1column, addScan Profiles, and then clickSave.
- From the computer, clickScan Complete.
Using Windows Fax and Scan
Make sure that the printer is added to the computer. For more information, see Adding printers to a computer.
- Load an original document into the ADF tray or on the scanner glass. For more information, see Using the automatic document feeder and scanner glass.
- From the computer, openWindows Fax and Scan.
- ClickNew Scan, and then select a scanner source.If necessary, change the scan settings.
- Scan the document.
- ClickSave as, type a file name, and then clickSave.
For Macintosh users
Make sure that the printer is added to the computer. For more information, see Adding printers to a computer.
- Load an original document into the ADF tray or on the scanner glass. For more information, see Using the automatic document feeder and scanner glass.
- From the computer, do either of the following:
- OpenImage Capture.
- OpenPrinters & Scanners, select a printer, and then click .
- From the Scanner dialog, do one or more of the following:
- Select the location that you want to save the scanned document to.
- Select the size of the original document.
- To scan from the ADF, from theScan Menu, selectDocument Feederor enableUse Document Feeder.
If necessary, configure the scan settings. - ClickScan.
