How to Perform Network NVRAM Reset on Lexmark 2580n+, 2581n+, 2590n+, and 2591n+ Forms (Dot Matrix) Printers

Overview

This document outlines the steps to reset the NVRAM
of a network-capable Lexmark 25xxn+
Forms (Dot Matrix) printers.

NOTES:

NVRAM
reset is usually performed to refresh the printer’s network configuration.

The suffix “n
” on the model number indicates that the printer is network capable.

Procedure

Step	Action
1	Turn the printer OFF by pressing and holding the START/STOP button until the POWER LED turns orange/amber.
2	Move the printhead all the way to the left or to the home position.
3	Using a blunt-pointed object (a ballpoint pen cover, for example), gently press and hold the button located in a small opening just above the printer's Ethernet port . Click here to see its location.
4	Turn ON the printer by tapping START/STOP button once while still pressing and holding the network button.
5	Release the network button once printhead initializes or after the printhead moves back and forth from the home position.
