Overview
If you want to eliminate audible beeps or tones when control-panel buttons are pressed, consider the following topics.
  • The "
    Button feedback
    " firmware level requirement
  • Button feedback
     adjustment instructions via the printer's Web browser
  • Button feedback
    adjustment instructions via the printer's control panel
"Button Feedback" firmware level requirement
Button feedback
is only available on the MFPs that have a firmware-code level of (
.P510
) or higher.
The absence of this "setting" option will signal that you need to perform a firmware update.
To verify this firmware-code level, look at the value on the
Menus Settings
 page under
Device Information
.

Web browser "Button Feedback" instructions
Perform the following to enable to disable audible control panel beeps.
  1. Obtain your printer's
    IP address
    . This can also be found on your
    Menu's Settings
     page underthe
    Standard Network
    >
    TCP/IP
     heading.
  2. Open your Web browser; e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or other browser.
  3. Enter the printer's IP address, e.g., http://mfp_
    IP_address
    , where
    IP_address
     is the IP address obtained from your Menu's Settings page.
  4. Click on
    Settings
    .
  5. Click on
    General Settings
    .
  6. Place or remove a checkmark next to
    Button feedback
     to enable or disable audible beeps.
  7. Click
    Submit
    .

  4. Press the
    down-arrow
     until you see
    Button Feedback
    .
  5. Press the
    right

    left-
    arrow
     buttons to toggle the setting (

    Off
    ).
  6. Press
    Submit
    .
