What you will see
E-mail/FTP Setup
allows for the following incompatible configuration combination:
  • Secure PDF
    format, with
  • PDF versions 1.2

  • PDF version 1.3

    NOTE:
    Scan-to-PC
    may be affected if using older versions of Adobe Reader.

This is not a Lexmark limitation. It is due to PDF versions 1.2 and 1.3 not being able to fully support
