Installation 'Only' Instructions for Lexmark Solution Software

Overview

This document provides basic installation instructions that describe how to load or install a solution software application on to your printer or MFP.

NOTE:
This article does not cover configuration steps for each of the many solutions available. For further configuration instructions, please consult your administrator's guide.

Administrator's guide

If you can not locate an administrator's guide for a particular software solution, visit support.lemark.com, contact Lexmark Technical Support, or contact your solutions provider.

Solution installation overview

Download the solution. This file is typically a self-extracting executable.

Select Run
. You will observe extraction of the individual files.

Select Agree
to the license agreement.

Click Install
to install the software components to the default Lexmark
directory, or click Browse
to change directories or create a new directory.

Open your MFP's embedded web server or web page.

Click on Settings
or Configuration
for older MFPs.

Click on Embedded Solutions
.

Click on Install
.

Click Browse
to locate the proper .fls
file; for example, the directory location as specified in Step 4
.

Click on the .fls
file to select it; e.g., MFPUsage.fls
.

Click Open
.

Click Start Install
.

Be patient as the solution installs on your MFP.

OTE:
When calling for support, you will be asked for your printer machine/model type
and serial number
(SN

Please call from near the computer and printer in case the technician on the phone asks you to perform a task involving one of these devices.
