Unable to Scan Using Any Network Twain-Compliant App when Shortcut Number Assigned Is 15, 18, 19, 20, or 22

What you will see
You cannot scan using any Network Twain-compliant application (e.g., Scan Center). The following symptom and error may occur:
  • After clicking
    Scan
    in the Network Twain window, it freezes and will not complete a scan.
  • Clicking the Scan button multiple times will result to a
    General Network error
    while trying to communicate with the device.
NOTE:
This happens when using Network Twain driver version
1.14
and
below
.
Recommended solution
Update the Network Twain driver to version
1.5
(or higher).
Explanation
When scanning using Network Twain driver, the printer firmware will randomly assign a shortcut number to the driver depending on the available shortcuts. However, with Network Twain driver version
1.14
and
below
, the driver will
not
recognize shortcut numbers
