The

ADF

cover may not shut completely on one side if you press only on one side to close it.

Even if the

ADF

cover is not fully closed, the

LED

indicator will still light up, thus making it appear that the

ADF

is ready (see image below).

The LED indicator will light up as if Ready even though the cover is not fully closed.

Scanning using the

ADF

while the cover is not fully closed will result in

ADF Cover Open Jam

or

Error Code 290.11

.

IMPORTANT!

Make sure the

ADF

cover is closed completely on

both

sides before making copies in the

ADF

. Recommended close: Push on both the left and the right-hand sides of the cover at the same time, or on its center.
