Preliminary 'Print Quality' Diagnosis for MS and MX 910, 911 Series Printers

Preliminary print quality checks
Before you begin
If the customer has not yet printed any internal test pages, a good starting point is to print a 'Menus Settings' page or 'Print Quality' pages. This immediately confirms a possible hardware or supplies issue.

Print a
Menus Settings
page and confirm these settings:- Print resolution-- 600 dpi
- Toner darkness-- 8
- Supply status --Low, Ok
- Paper Type--PLAIN if standard paper being used.

Skew check
What to do?
Determine a paper path issue.- LoadTray 1with 20lb. Letter or A4 size paper. Make sure the paper-tray guides are properly seated for the paper size loaded.
- PrintQuality Pagesagain to determine success. If you no skew if present from tray 1, repeat these steps to isolate additional trays until you can identify the source.
Operating conditions check
What to do?
Request information about the printer environrment's temperature, humidity and air quality conditions.If any indicators suggest poor operating conditions, then ask the customer to relocate printer to a different location, and then print the
