Solution

To disable these functions, refer to the following steps:
Option 1:
Use
Run Initial Setup
via the printer
control panel
.
This method applies to both
Network
and
USB-connected
devices.
  1. On the control panel, press the arrow key down to Settings, and press
    OK
    .
  2. Scroll down to Settings, press
    OK
    , and then press
    OK
    again on General Settings.
  3. Select Run Initial Setup, and choose Yes.
  4. Power the printer
    off
    and then
    on
    .
    Please wait for several seconds before powering the printer back on to ensure the proper power cycle process.
  5. Go through the initial setup. One of the prompts is to "
    Select functions to enable:
    ". Disable any function as desired using the up and down arrow keys in
    removing the check mark

    Save

  6. When done and the device is at
    Ready
    state, the Fax, FTP, and E-mail functions should not be visible and will not prompt any messages relating to these functions.
Option 2:
Use
Panel PIN Protect
via the Embedded Web Server (
EWS
).

ONLY
.
  1. Access the printers EWS.
  2. Select Settings, and then click on
    Security
    .
  3. Scroll down to view the functions. Disable any function as desired.
    Functions that can be disabled have a "
    Disable
    " selection.
  4. When the device is at
    Ready
    state, the Fax, FTP, and E-mail functions should not be visible and will not prompt any messages relating to these functions.
