The Printer Posts `Tray 4 or 5 Missing? (High-Capacity Option Tray)

Issue Description:
When a 3000 (high capacity) feeder is installed on a Lexmark MS911 or MX91x Multifunction printer series, the device may report a
status of “
Tray x Missing
”, where x
= 4
(if 2500-sheet
option is installed) or x
= 5
(if 2 x 500-sheet
option is installed).

Workaround
You can immediately remove the “
Tray x Missing
” status by printing any job that will pull paper from any of the trays available (not the high-capacity feeder).
For instance, print the Device Statistics
pages by navigating through: Menu
> Reports
> Device statistics
.
The intervention message should clear after the printing this internal report. You may follow the suggested steps in the next section to prevent the message from reoccurring.
Solution:
You can
disable
(turn off) the ECO-Mode
and Quiet Mode
to keep the error from reoccurring. To do this, navigate through:
- Menu>Settings>General Settings>Eco-mode>OFF–and–
- Menu>Settings>General Settings>Quiet mode>OFF
