Unable to change network setting from dynamic to static IP address using a local account created in a Lexmark Print Management (LPM) environment

Lexmark CX725de Unable to Change Network Setting from Dynamic to Static IP Address Using a Local Account Created in a Lexmark Print Management (LPM) Environment

Issue description

In an LPM environment, creating a local account (password or PIN) on the printer, restricting its access to network/ports menu and removing the public permission to access network/ports menu, the printer ignores each attempt to change the network setting from dynamic (DHCP) to static IP address once logged in with this local account. Hence, instead of assigning a static IP address, the printer initiates a DHCP DISCOVER and gets a new dynamic IP address.
Changing the network setting from the
embedded web server
(
EWS
) and printer control panel has the same behavior.

Solution

Updating the printer firmware fixes the issue. Please contact
Lexmark Technical Support to
acquire the firmware fix.
The Lexmark representative might ask for the printer current firmware level. Please refer to Checking the latest Lexmark printer firmware for the steps. Once you obtain the file, you may proceed and update the firmware by following the steps from Updating the Lexmark printer firmware.
