280.13 Error Appear when Scanning / Copying through the ADF

Issue description

The printer posts a 280.13 error after the last sheet of the scan pack feeds and exits the automatic document feeder
(ADF
). The pick mechanism tries to pick more media. It does this for a short period of time then posts 280.13 error.

This error also appears when the ADF fails to feed paper or no sheets are detected in the ADF tray.

Solution

Open the ADF cover.

Check whether the ADF paper present flag
is dangling freely.

Expected position of the ADF paper present flag	Broken ADF paper present flag

Close the ADF cover and check again ADF paper present flag. It must be on the down position.

If the ADF paper present flag is broken, a replacement of the flag is necessary. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support
for assistance.
