Installing the printer software also installs the print, scan, and fax drivers.
Note: Depending on your computer operating system, you may use the Microsoft IPP Class Driver or AirPrint to connect the printer to your computer. If you want custom and full printing features, then download the printer software.
Before you begin, make sure that:
- For network printers, the printer and computer are connected to the same network, and then take note of the printer IP address. The IP address is at the top of the printer display.
- For local printers, the printer is connected to your computer with a USB cable.
- Go to the Drivers & downloads page.
- In the Search by Device Model field, type the printer model, and then click Find Drivers & Downloads.
- In the Recommended Driver section, click Download Driver Package.
Note: If your computer runs on Linux operating system, then select a driver from the Additional downloads compatible with section.
- Run the installer, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
