Problem

All-In-One Center (AIOC); AIOC.exe has stopped working; AIOC.EXE has encountered an error; Unable to scan using AIOC but can scan via WIA

Environment

Lexmark Z611 Color Jetprinter; Lexmark Z840 Color Jetprinter; AIOC (All in One center); Microsoft Windows Vista

Solution

What you will see


The following errors may appear when you try to print: 

AIOC.exe has encountered an error
AIOC.exe has stopped working
Printer interface has stopped working

You may also encounter the following issues:

The All-In-One Center (AIOC) is missing.
You can scan via Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) but not using the AIOC. 


What to do



    1. Disconnect the USB cable.
       
       
    2. Restart the computer in order to restart the print spooler. NOTE: Click here for instructions on how to stop and restart the spooler without restarting the computer.    
       
       
    3. Run the applicable cleanup utility; i.e., vistacleanXXX.exe. To obtain this, click here.
       
       
    4. Reinstall the printer software using the correct Vista driver.
