Solution

An improved scanner driver for the Lexmark X1110/ X1130/ X1150 has been released (version 2.0.2.2). Click here to download this version.  Note: Windows users must also download the file PR1ALLX1100xx.exe (version 1.0).
This driver is compatible with both the following Machine Type Model Numbers:

4476-K01
4476-K02

Note: We recommend that you use this driver version, but you will need to uninstall the old driver software before installing the new software.


To check which driver software is currently installed on the PC, do the following:


  1. Go to Start, Programs (XP: All Programs), Lexmark X1100 Series, Lexmark X1100 Series Solution Center.

  2. Go to Advanced, then About.

  3. If the driver version is 1.0.4.0 or lower (as in the screen image below), you will need to uninstall the old driver software before installing the new driver. Follow the instructions below the image that apply to your operating system.
     

Windows 98/ Me/ 2000/ XP:

  1. Unplug the USB cable from the back of the PC.

  2. Go to Start, Programs (XP: All Programs), Lexmark X1100 Series, Uninstall Lexmark X1100 Series.

  3. When a message stating This program will uninstall the Lexmark X1100 Series from your PC, Do you wish to continue? appears, click Yes. The uninstall program will then run. Note: It may take a couple of minutes to complete.

  4. Select the option to Restart Windows.

  5. After the PC has restarted, connect the USB cable to the PC and cancel any Found New Hardware Wizard screens.

  6. Double-click on the downloaded driver to unzip it and launch the software installation.

  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

  8. After installing the software, double-click on the downloaded PR1ALLX1100xx.exe file.

  9. Click on Unzip  to unzip the files to the C:\LexmarkX1100 folder.

  10. Click OK in the screen entitled '13 file(s) unzipped successfully'.

  11. Click Yes in the Software License Agreement screen.

  12. Click OK in the screen entitled 'Operation completed successfully'.

Mac OS 9.2.2:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the Mac.

  2. Double-click the X1100 Series folder.

  3. Double-click the X1100 Series Uninstaller.
  4. Click Uninstall in the screen that appears.
  5. Click OK in the following screen. Note: If any X1100 Series icons remain on the desktop, drag them to the trash and then empty the trash.
  6. Reconnect the USB cable to the Mac.

  7. Double-click on the downloaded driver, x1100_series_installer.hqx, to extract the file.

  8. Click on Install and Agree.
  9. Select your country or region from the list and click Continue.
  10. Connect the USB cable as instructed and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Mac OS 10.1.5/ 10.2:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the Mac.

  2. Double-click the X1100 Series folder on the desktop.
  3. Double-click the X1100 Series Uninstaller icon.
  4. Enter the Administrator password as authentication and click on OK.
  5. Click Uninstall to remove all X1100 Series-related files, including preference files.
  6. When a screen entitled 'Removal of the X1100 Series software was successful' appears, click OK.

  7. Double-click on the file cjmx1100l1.hqx  to extract the X1100 Series Installer to the desktop.

  8. Double-click the X1100 Series Installer icon.

  9. Enter the Administrator password and click OK.

  10. Select the language required and click on Continue.

  11. Select the country required and click on Continue.

  12. Click Accept in the License Agreement screen.

  13. Click Install in the X1100 Series Installer screen. The files will be copied to the Mac.

  14. Open the Print Center and select the Lexmark X1100 Series to highlight it.

  15. Click Delete  to remove it from the list. (This removes the old printer from the Mac.)

  16. Click Add  to select the new printer, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
