New cartridge requires an authentication PIN

Solution

Issue Description:

When a user inserts a new cartridge, an intervention required (IR) alert shows on screen prompting the user to authenticate the cartridge.

 

Solution:

  1. Scan the QR code on the printer control panel using a mobile device.
      

     

  2. Obtain the product identification number (PIN) shown on the mobile screen to authenticate the cartridge. An example of a cartridge authentication PIN is shown below.
      

  3. On the printer control panel, touch “Next”.

  4. Enter the PIN and touch “Done”.
