Issue Description:

The printer posts a 31.60z Reinstall Missing or Unresponsive Imaging Unit error message,
where the letter "z" may be an A, C, D, E, F, G, H, T, U, or V

 

Solution:

  • 31.60A
  1. Install an imaging unit.
     
  • 31.60C, 31.60D, 31.60E, 31.60F, 31.60G, or 31.60H

Note: This is a Smart chip error.

  1. Remove the toner cartridge and imaging unit and then reinstall the supplies.
     
  2. If the error message reappears, replace the imaging unit under warranty.
     
  • 31.60T, 31.60U, or 31.60V

Note: This is a Capacitive Toner Level Sensing (CTLS) error.

  1. Remove the toner cartridge and imaging unit and then reinstall the supplies.
     
  2. If the error message is gone but comes back intermittently, the root cause is likely the
    imaging unit and should be replaced under warranty.
     
    Note: If a spare imaging unit is available, try swapping the supply to confirm a new imaging unit will fix the issue.
