The 'Dialing' Status Message Is Not Displayed on the Control Panel when Sending a Fax

What you will see 

The control panel provides no visual indication that the modem is dialing when sending a fax. Instead, you see Ready on the screen, which then jumps immediately to a Connecting... or Sending... message.

This is functioning as designed. The screen may actually initialize slower than the actual fax "Dialing" event, and since this timeframe between dialing and connecting can be very short, the firmware design triggers the device to skip the dialing message and only show Connecting and Sending messages.
