This document is applicable to the following Lexmark printer models:

  • Single function: CS51x, MS61x, MS81x
  • Multi-function: CX41x, CX51x, MX41x, MX51x, MX61x, MX71x, MX81x

NOTE: An x denotes any number within a given printer model series.


Issue description

The screen does not respond when tapping the control panel icons.

The following issues are also experienced:

  • Screen response takes a while or has a delay after an icon is pressed.
  • Screen calibration is intermittently off.



Suggested fixes

  • For printers with a hard disk drive (HDD) installed, disconnecting the HDD from the printer could resolve the issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance on how to perform this procedure.
  • Updating the printer firmware will fix the issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support to acquire the latest firmware.

NOTE: The Lexmark representative might ask for the printer's current firmware level. Please refer to how to check the printer's firmware for the steps. Once you obtain the file, you may proceed and update the firmware by following the steps from how to update the printer's firmware.
