What you will see
 

The printer posts a 282.03 error when scanning using the ADF.

 

 

Possible cause
 

The error will appear if the ADF pick rollers are unable to pick, or have difficulty picking, paper from the ADF. The failures happen on the first pick attempt on the initial page.

 

 

Resolution
 

This error can be easily resolved by implementing the following troubleshooting steps.

Check for staples and paper clips before loading paper into the ADF. See the sample image below:

Check the ADF pick roller tires for debris, wear, and/or damage. If debris is found, clear the debris from the ADF pick roller tires.

  1. Open the ADF cover and you will see the pick roller assembly. In the right-hand image, the red arrow is pointing to the pick roller assembly.
