Suggested Remedy

This issue is currently being investigated by both Lexmark and Microsoft product engineering teams. This article will be updated to notify you if any fix information becomes available.

Step Action Illustration
 1.  Click on and then Devices and Printers.

 2. Right-click on the printer driver icon and select Printing Preferences from the drop-down menu.
 3. Click on the Advanced tab.
 4. Click on More Options.
 5. Under Appearance Mode, select Never show the Printing Status window or Printivity Tips and then click OK.
 6. Click OK once more.
7. Restart the computer. Alternative: Cancel or delete all print jobs from your print queue. Print jobs will need to cleared from the queue before this change is realized.

NOTES: A side effect of this procedure is that you will lose the job status monitor. If this is unacceptable, you should consider reverting back to Internet Explorer version 10.

Other Communication Issues and Helpful Articles

Common to printer communication problems, lxcqpswx and lxcqjswx software processes may be blocked by firewall software. These processes make it possible to view job status and printer alerts.

Step Action
1. Open the software firewall application.
2. Add lxcqpswx and lxcqjswx (applications) as exceptions even if they are not showing as blocked.
Help: If unsure how to add these exceptions, see the firewall manufacturer's end-user documentation or use the manufacturer's technical support services for assistance.
