Smudges appear on the printout because the toner is not being fused to the paper.
- Try a different kind of paper. Paper designed for copiers gives the best-quality fusing.
- Change the media texture setting in the driver. If you are using special media such as cardstock or labels, then be sure to select the correct media type.
- If this defect persists, contact Lexmark Technical Support to set up service for the printer.
