Solution

Cleaning the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)

  1. Open the ADF.

  2. Wipe the upper feed roller from side to side. Use a clean, lint-free cloth, dampened with isopropyl alcohol (95%).
  3. Rotate the roller forwards with your finger and repeat the above cleaning procedures until the entire roller is cleaned. Be careful not to snag or damage the pick springs.
  4. Wipe the assembly pad in a downward motion. Caution! Be careful not to hook the pick springs.

  5. Close the ADF.

Cleaning the Document Glass

  1. Open the document cover.

  2. Wipe the glass and document cover with a clean, lint-free cloth, dampened with isopropyl alcohol (95%).
  3. Close the document cover.
