Problem

Unable to update print server firmware using web page; Web applet fails

Environment

The Java Virtual Machine (JVM) on MacOS 8.x and MacOS 9.x does not support the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP). TFTP support is required for the MarkNet print server firmware update through the web applet.

Solution


Since the OS does not support Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) functionality, the web applet cannot support print server firmware updates.
This is not a print server problem. Once this problem has been fixed on the Mac side, the update firmware portion of the web applet will begin to work.
