'900.94' Message Displayed on the Lexmark X203 and X204 MFP

Solution

 What you will see (06-2010)

A 900.94 error is displayed on the X203 and X204 MFP.

 

 

Suggested Remedy

 

Turn the printer "Off" and "On"... Then...
If the error remains displayed on the printer... Contact Lexmark for further assistance.
If the error is gone... Follow the below firmware update instructions.

 

 

 

Firmware Update Procedure

 

Step 1 – Check the printer's base code firmware level and proceed to Step 2 if this level is lower than .P217. Otherwise, contact Lexmark for further assistance.

Step 2 – Download the latest firmware.

Step 3 – Extract the firmware file and send it to the printer.

 

Step 1: A recommended firmware check

Check your current firmware levels to make sure your Base code is not already at the latest version.

To check the Base code firmware level:

  • -Print a Menus Page, or
  • -Open the MFP's web page with its IP address, and
  • -Click on Reports, and
  • -Click on Device Information.

Contact Lexmark for further diagnosis if your code levels are already current. 

As of 2010-06-16, base code LM1.MT.P217-0 is the latest firmware available. 

 

Step 2: Download the latest firmware

To update firmware code: 

  1. Click here to go the the printer firmware download site.
  2. Enter x20x as the keycode.
  3. Download the x20x.zip file to a known destination folder.
  4. Double-click on the .zip file to open WinZip extraction utility.

 

Step 3: Two options for sending the firmware to the printer

Option 1

  1. Select the files and save them to a specified directory or folder on your PC.
  2. Double-click on the X20x.P217.E205.S008b.exe to extract the flash (.fls) file and automatically launch a Firmware Flash Utility.
  3. Follow the Flash Utility's on-screen instructions.

Option 2 (Network Recommended)

  1. Launch the MFP's web page or embedded web server (ews); for example, enter http://ipaddress, where ipaddress is the TCP/IP address of the MFP.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Update Firmware.
  4. Click on Browse.
  5. Locate the folder location and select the .fls file.
  6. Click Open.
  7. Click Submit.
