What you will see

Creation and administration of a restricted server list device policy fails to function.

The following errors may indicate this problem: 

  • - A "Device not supported" error
  • - Setting not accepted by the device
  • - General failure message

Products Affected

All laser products announced before 2005 will most likely exhibit this behavior. 

For example, The Lexmark T64x, C53x, and C772 Series printers and affiliated derivative MFPs were announced in the 2005 and 2006 timeframe. 

Suggested Fix


  1. Download the plug-in. Click here to download this file.  
  2. Install the plug-in.
  3. Stop and start the server. Click here for additional instruction if unsure how to stop these services.
  4. Relaunch the client.



This anomaly or failure occurs because of changes that were made to printer design architecture over the last several years.

MarkVision Professional 11.2 and 11.2.1's functionality has changed in order to accommodate this change in device architecture. 

Older or legacy printers and MFPs Current or recent printers and MFPs
MarkVision Professional 11.2 and 11.2.1 device policy administration 
Restricted server IP address lists accepted by the printer as IP address values
Restricted server IP addresses accepted by the printer as string values Handles input/output values as string setting values, which prevent older devices from understanding device policy input
