This article describes how to set up the ability to scan to PC on the Lexmark X560n MFP.


Setting up Scan-to-PC

  1 Create a shared directory file on the PC.  Make sure the desired user(s) have full access rights to the shared directory.           No Image
  2 Using a web browser, navigate to the MFP's website.  Click on Address Book, then click on Individual Directory.

  3 Click Add to add a shortcut.

Input the required information, then click Save Changes:

  • Give the shortcut a name.

  • Enter the host name or IP address in the Server Address field.

  • Enter the name of the shared folder in the Share Name field.

  • Enter the user ID in the Login Name field (thus giving full access to the shared folder).

  • Enter the password in the Login Password field.

NOTE: The  Server Path and Port Number fields should be automatically populated with 139.

To perform a scan to computer, do the following:

  1. On the printer, navigate to Computer (Network), then press the right arrow twice to reach the list of Individual Directory addresses. 

  2. Highlight the address you want and press Okay.

  3. Select any additional options you require, such as file format, resolution, etc.

  4. Press Start to initiate the scan.
