"Scan Lock Error: Unlock Scanner"  troubleshooting; X502 MFP



A  "Scan Lock Error: Unlock Scanner" error message indicates that the scanning unit's physical lock is in the locked position.

Troubleshooting steps

1Power the printer off.
2Open the scanner lid.  In the lower left-hand corner you will see the scanner lock (see the above pictures). Move the lock switch to the unlocked position.
Power the printer back on.
Did the error message return?

Yes: Continue to 'Contacting Lexmark' below.
No: The error is resolved.
