A  "Scan Lock Error: Unlock Scanner" error message indicates that the scanning unit's physical lock is in the locked position.

Step	Action
1	Power the printer off.
2	Open the scanner lid.  In the lower left-hand corner you will see the scanner lock (see the above pictures). Move the lock switch to the unlocked position.
3	Power the printer back on. Did the error message return? Yes: Continue to 'Contacting Lexmark' below. No: The error is resolved.
