The All-In-One (AIO) will not respond to print or scan commands after entering "power save" mode.
Additional indicators of this issue
-A green Wi-Fi light indicating normal printer to access point (AP) communication. -A period of time has passed since you last used the printer. -A software 'Communication error' appears on your screen. -A hard power reset, or complete removal and reinsertion of the power supply, seems to resolve the issue. -After you reset the printer and resend or restart the print job, communication is reestablished.
Resolution: AIO firmware upgrade
Two firmware updates are available to resolve this issue:
-Printer firmware, and
-Network firmware
Before you upgrade
It is recommended that you check your current printer and network code level. To do this:
-Print the Test page for the printer code level. (Go to the Maintenance menu on the LCD > Select > Print Test Page.)
-Print the network settings page for the network code level.

Procedure: Network code update via USB connection
Make sure the USB cable is connected between printer and computer and that the printer is set as the Default Printer. NOTE: It is not necessary to change the printer port.

Procedure: Network code update via network connection
IMPORTANT! Make sure your computer and printer are communicating with the AP/wireless router. If not, connect a USB cable and follow the above procedure.
NOTE: The fact that your computer is hard-wired into the router with an ethernet cable is not a guarantee that the built-in AP (wireless radio) is sending out network data. You can be connected to the AP, but not to the network. Successful Wi-Fi communication requires radio transmission of network traffic.

HINT: Refer to the network settings page you printed earlier.5 Press Enter on the keyboard. 6
