Checklist

For Lexmark wireless installation on French telecom boxes, please follow these recommendations:

    • Make sure the telecom box has WiFi 802.11b/g available. NOTE: Darty Box does not come with WiFi, it is an upgrade kit option.

    • Verify that routing is enabled on the box (Free Box and others have a specific router enable option accessible via the box’s web page).

    • Verify that WiFi is operating (Live Box, Alice Box, N9UFBox have an LED indicator). The customer may have to turn on WiFi via the box’s web page.

    • If possible, make sure that the customer’s wireless PC can access the internet before beginning the printer installation.

    • Check the documentation that came with the box for an associate button that has to be pressed when new devices are attached to the network.
Live Box and Alice Box have a registration/association button. See the pictures below.
      Live Box associate button:

      Alice Box associate button:

If the box has an associate button, the button must be pressed just before the Lexmark installation selects the network and the customer enters security keys.
Once this button is pressed on the box, there is a time period of ~5-10 minutes during which clients can be added. If the INA is configured during this time period, the installation will run smoothly.

IMPORTANT!

When entering Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) keys, do not include spaces in the entry. For example, the WEP key in the image below should be entered as F714EE274E3EDCDF423E3A4F19
