Follow these steps to remove the image transfer unit (ITU) safely from the printer and then reinstall it.
WARNING! DO NOT TOUCH THE TRANSFER BELT! TOUCHING THE TRANSFER BELT WILL DAMAGE THE ITU.
Step Action Image 1 Power the printer off and remove all four print cartridges from the machine. 2 Release the latches and open the Multipurpose Feeder (area A) all the way. 3 Raise the lever to unlock the Image Transfer Unit. 4 Pull down the handle. 5
Slide the Image Transfer Unit out and place it on a clean, flat surface.
WARNING! Do not touch the transfer belt. Touching the transfer belt will damage the Image Transfer Unit.
WARNING! DO NOT TOUCH THE TRANSFER BELT! TOUCHING THE TRANSFER BELT WILL DAMAGE THE ITU!
Step Action Image 1 Make sure all the print cartridges are removed from the printer and that the multipurpose feeder is open all the way. 2 Insert the ITU into the back of the printer. Align the guides with the intersection grooves, and slide the unit in. 3 Rotate the handle up, and push gently to lock the unit into place. 4 Lower the lever to lock the ITU into place.
