Overview


 The 200.xx paper jam indicates that there is paper stuck in one of three areas:

    • Area B/Area T1
    • Under the image transfer unit (ITU)
       
After checking and clearing these areas as instructed below, make sure all print covers, doors, and trays are closed, and then press the  button to resume printing.

NOTE:
The printer also displays Pages Jammed. Be sure to remove all the jammed pages before pressing .

Open the left access door until it latches open.
 

Note: The left access door will be at an approximate 90 degree angle when fully opened.

Remove all visible media, close the door, select Continue, and press the  button.


Note: It is important to remove any torn media from the printer.

If clearing Area B did not clear the jam, carefully open Tray 1 and remove any visible paper jams. (For information on loading the paper tray, click here.)

Clearing a jam under the ITU

Power the printer off. Open the front cover assembly
 
 
2 Remove all of the toner cartridges.

  1. Pull up slightly on the cartridge handhold. 
  2. Pull the cartridge straight out and use the handle to lift it off its guides.
  3. Place the cartridge on a clean, flat surface out of direct light.
3 Release the latches to open the multipurpose feeder (Area A) all the way.
4 Remove the Image Transfer Unit. N/A
5 Insert a folded piece of paper to check and clear the paper sensors under the image transfer unit. Make sure to clear the entire width of the paper path.

6 Look inside the printer. Remove all torn paper or other jams.
7 Reinsert the Image Transfer Unit. N/A
8 Close the multipurpose feeder to its original position and reinstall all of the toner cartridges.
9 Close the front cover assembly. N/A
10 Power the printer on.
