Network Security Software May Hinder Scan Usage and Installation of the X9350

Cannot retrieve scan applications list from the PC; Cannot complete a wireless connection;

Environment

Microsoft Windows 2000; Microsoft Windows XP; Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition; Microsoft Windows Vista; PC-cillin

Solution

What to do



  1. In the notification area (system tray), right-click on the PC-cillin anti-virus icon (indicated by the arrow in the image below) and select Exit
     

  2. Right-click on the icon in the notification area.
     

  3. Select Open Main Console. The following image appears:

  4. Click Personal Network and Firewall Controls and select Settings.  The following image appears:

  5. Select your Profile and click Edit.  Then click Program Control.  The following image appears:

  6. Check to see if there are any Lexmark executable files in the blocked list. If you find one, select the file and click Edit. The following image appears:

  7. If Deny  is selected, click Allow and then click OK.

  8. If this does not resolve the issue, unplug and replug the power connection to the printer and reboot the PC to reset the printer.
