Faxes Will Not Print After a New Cartridge Is Installed on the X215

What You Will See  

After changing the cartridge on your X215, you receive a fax that will not print.

Explanation

The X215 cartridge has a fuse that is not blown on a new cartridge. When you insert a new cartridge into the X215, that fuse blows and lets the machine know that a new cartridge was installed. However, faxes will not be printed because the printer does not clear its memory at the same time.

To Print the Fax

You will need to 'tell' the X215 that a new cartridge has been installed so that the printer will clear its memory.  Follow the instructions in the table.

Press #, 1 9, 3, 4 to enter Tech Mode.

Press the arrow button until you see New Cartridge.

Press the checkmark key ().

Press #, 1 9, 3, 4 to exit Tech Mode.
 

Workaround 

If you have two X215 printers:



    1. Insert the cartridge into the X215 that is not receiving faxes. This will blow the fuse on the cartridge. 

    2. Then take that cartridge and insert it into the X215 that receives faxes. The printer should automatically print the faxes since it thinks an old cartridge was installed (i.e. the printer's memory is cleared automatically).
