MVP 11.0: Invalid EHLO Header Format when MarkVision Messenger is used with SMTP Server
MVP's Messenger service is using _mvpServer in the originating EHLO (HELO) command header when negotiating a handshake with the SMTP server. Messenger appears to be using the SMTP server hostname (_mvpServer) instead of MVP's server hostname.
The MVP messenger command header values used during the initial handshake with the SMTP server should look like this: EHLO <Hostname*> <FQDN**>
(i.e. EHLO Moi.dhcp.lexmark.com)
* computer name for MVP server (Moi)
** fully qualified domain name for the computer running MVP server (dhcp.lexmark.com)
The plug-in MessengerHelo v 1.2 changes the MVP behavior to obtain the line: EHLO
Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance. NOTE: When calling for support, you will need to know the printer model type and serial number.
Please call from the MVP server location in case the technician asks you to perform a task involving the MVP server software.
