Document ID:SO3422

  Properties

Problem

Unable to access folder when its name contains extended characters; Unable to import server settings when action names or descriptions and/or folder names contain extended characters

Environment

How to use extended characters; MarkVision Professional (MVP) 11.0

Solution

Explanation

When storing configuration information in files, MVP 11.0 does not natively use Unicode (UTF-8) encoding. Depending on the character tables used, issues may arise when some folders or actions are accessed.

Resolution

The CharacterEncodingFix plug-in allows storage of all information in UTF-8 and solves all character encoding issues that currently exist.

    1. Download the file ENUS23282_CharacterEncodingFix_v1.1.zip and unzip it.

    2. Install the CharacterEncodingFix (v1.1) plug-in on your MVP server.  For information on how to install MVP plug-ins, click here.

    3. Reboot your MVP server.  Click here for directions.
