Solution

Overview

The 2006 MFP products (X85xe, X644e, X646e etc) contain an embedded web server. This web server allows the user to set up a direct Scan to PC profile using an embedded Java applet.
Users of Microsoft Windows may still be using the Microsoft JVM, which has been discontinued (see http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/). The PS&SD network development team does not anticipate compatibility issues with the MSJVM, but some customers may (and do) experience problems.

Suggestion

Lexmark recommends using Sun's JVM instead of the MSJVM as products will transition away from Microsoft JVM support. Sun's JVM can be obtained at http://java.sun.com.
