Solution
Explanation
When two identical host names are found in different domains or subdomains in the DNS files (for example, myprinter.lexmark.com and myprinter.emea.lexmark.com) , MVP 11.0 is unable correctly to resolve the host name of the device and thus unable to populate the folder list with the newly discovered device.
The device is shown in the Find Results page but since the name resolution has not been done correctly, the message 'Could Not Find the device' is displayed on the activity panel.
Solution
- Download the ENUS_20940_QuickFind.zip plug-in.
- Unzip the plug-in on your system.
- Install QuickFind v1.0 on your MVP server. (For more information on how to install a plug-in in MVP, see this article.) This fix changes the way the host name is read from the DNS server so as to allow to MVP to populate the folder list with the discovery result.
