This message indicates a jam in the high-capacity feeder.
NOTE: A 249 Paper Jam message on this printer always indicates that a jam has occurred in the 3000-sheet high-capacity feeder. However, the sub-message Check Tray may refer to either tray 3 or tray 5 depending on the configuration of your printer. For example, if you have one optional 550-sheet paper tray and the optional printer cabinet, the high-capacity feeder will be identified as tray 3. Conversely, if you have three optional 550-sheet paper trays and the optional printer base, the high-capacity feeder will be identified as tray 5. The paper/print media being used is within the printer's specifications. The use of print media outside of the recommended size, type, and weight will lead to frequent jams and poor print quality.
