A 241, 242, 243, or 244 message indicates a jam in one of the 550-sheet media trays.
NOTE: Jams in five areas result in a 24 Paper Jam message (where represents the tray number where the jam has occurred). Messages 241 through 244 indicate that a jam has occurred in one of the 550-sheet paper trays. A 249 Paper Jam Check Tray message indicates that a jam has occurred in the 3,000-sheet high capacity feeder, which can serve as either tray 3 or tray 5 depending on the printer configuration. If your printer is posting a 249 Paper Jam, Check Tray 3 message, see this document. As with any paper jam, start by verifying that the following conditions are met:
The paper/print media being used is within the printer's specifications. The use of print media outside of the recommended size, type, and weight will lead to frequent jams and poor print quality.
The paper/print media is being loaded correctly into the printer's paper trays. Consult the following documents for details:

To clear 241 through 244 jams, do the following:
Pull out the tray indicated on the printer display.
Remove any wrinkled or creased paper.
Close the tray.
If the paper jam message continues, check the paper path and clear all paper from it.
