MVP Web Client Opens in Current Window Overwriting the Previous Web Page

Problem

MVP overwrites web page; MVP web client window opens over current web page; MVP client replaces current web page; The new page loads in the currently opened window.

Environment

MarkVision Professional 7.4; Using MarkVision Professional (MVP) web client; This happens because of a default Internet Explorer setting that re-uses browser windows for new URLs.

Solution

To resolve this issue:

  1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options.
     

  2. Click the Advanced tab.
     

  3. Deselect (untick) Reuse windows for launching shortcuts.

NOTE: Netscape has a similar setting, but it is not enabled as a default.
