Lexmark Firmware Update (May 2018)

Important!

  • Always check the device's current firmware level.
  • If a device has a firmware-level of abcde.041.226, or newer, then do not update to this version. If a critical fix or function is absolutely necessary, then please contact Lexmark Technical Support to receive additional guidance.
  • Review the release notes before making the decision to update firmware.

Downgrading firmware

It is strongly recommended that you do not downgrade firmware to a lower level. A loss of apps, security features, configuration settings, and more, will likely result from this decision.
Again, contact Lexmark Technical Support and see KB article ID#: SO8017 for more information on the impacts of downgrading.

Scheduling time

Unlike most other firmware-level updates, this specific firmware update to FW5 can take up to 20 minutes to complete. If you have FW2 (.02x.yyy) or FW3 (.03x.yyy), then schedule a time to perform this upgrade that does not interfere with daily printing or job workflows
